Willie Edward Cohen

Willie Edward Cohen, husband of Lillie Pearl Rogers Cohen and son of the late Gettis Cohen and Lula Mae Foster Cohen, was born in Spartanburg County, SC on December 22, 1947.  He entered eternal rest on Tuesday morning, June 22, 2021, at his residence.  Mr. Cohen was of the Baptist faith.  He was a US Army veteran and was retired from Ina Bearing of Spartanburg.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carolyn Delois Canty; one grandson, Reginald Canty; and three sisters, Luella Johnson, Rosie Anderson, and Marion Williams.  He leaves precious memories to his wife, Lillie Cohen of the home; one stepson, Robert Canty (Renee) of Spartanburg, SC; two daughters, Teresa Ann Canty and Sharon Denise Canty both of Spartanburg, SC; thirteen grandchildren include four reared in the home, Angela (Bernard), Jaron, Anthony, and Maurice;; a host of greatgrandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gettis Cohen (Shirley) of Smithfield, NC and Lee Morris Cohen of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Kathy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  The family will receive friends at the home.  Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC is in charge of arrangements.
