Virginia Ruth (Smith) Jennings

Virginia Ruth Smith Jennings, 74, of Rochester, NY passed away July 30, 2021. A native of Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late James E. Smith and Eloise Talley Smith.  She attended the public schools of Union County and was retired from St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY after thirty-five years of service.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie Lee Smith, James Smith, Stanley Smith, Bobby Charles Smith and one sister, Andrena Smith.  She is survived by two brothers, Curtis (Janet) Smith of Union, SC and Raymond Smith of Union, SC; four sisters, Joann Parham of Union, SC, Brenda (Jonathan) Wilson of Rochester, NY, Edith Smith of Union, SC, and Kathy Smith of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  The family will receive friends at 656 Blue Ridge Road, Union, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
