Teresa Dianne (Hughes) "Rika" Thompson

Teresa Dianne Hughes Thompson, 58, of Union, SC, passed away on Sunday morning, March 8, 2026 in Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

A native of Union County, SC, she was the wife of Gary Lemark Thompson and daughter of the late Clyde Louis “Ludo” Hughes and Velveree Smith “Punkin” Hughes.

Teresa was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1985. She was employed at Milliken and Company Cedar Hill Plant in Union, SC. She also dedicated compassionate care as a certified nursing assistant. Teresa was affectionately known as “Rika”. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Foster Chapel Baptist Church of Jonesville, SC.

“Rika” leaves precious memories to her husband, Gary Lemark Thompson; four children, LaSheena Hughes, Marcus Hughes, Rodrick Hughes, and Joshua Hughes; six grandchildren; one brother, Nequa Hughes; two sisters, Nena (Willie) Glenn, and Utedia Means; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends all of whom will miss her presence dearly.

The family will receive friends at 902 Lakeside Drive, Union, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
