Spencer Melvin "Speedy" Moss

Spencer “Speedy” Melvin Moss answered his Father's call on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his home. He was born on January 21, 1961, in Spartanburg, SC, son of Elouise Hill Moss of Spartanburg, SC and the late Sumpter David Moss. Spencer was a 1979 graduate of Spartanburg High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1979 with honorable discharge in 1982.

He was a dedicated maintenance worker for Mecklenburg County facilities and Housing Authority until his health declined. He enjoyed cheering for the Carolina Panthers, listening to music, and detailing his car. His daughter and granddaughters were the love of his life, and he enjoyed spending quality time with each of them.

Spencer leaves precious and endearing memories to his beloved daughter, Ashley (Mike) Morales of Charlotte, NC; three precious granddaughters, Amaya Moss, Amani and Alivia Morales of Charlotte NC; his devoted mother, Elouise Moss of Spartanburg, SC; one brother, Patrick Keith Moss, Sr. (Iris) of Charlotte, NC; aunt, Emma Price; two nieces, Telesa (James) Hester and Kelsey Houston; nephew, Patrick Moss Jr., great niece Madison Moss and great nephew, James Hester, Jr.; devoted friend, Faith Robbs, and other family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Moss-Houston and niece, Joni Houston.
