Shirley May Tucker was born in Union County, SC on October 22, 1961. She departed this life on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. She was the daughter of Eloise Sartor Tucker and the late Samuel Tucker, Sr.
Shirley was one of Jehovah’s Witness of Kingdom Hall. She was a 1979 graduate of Union High School. She was an employee of Union County Disabilities and Special Needs Board.
Shirley leaves precious memories to her beloved daughter, L’Oreal Tucker; her adorable grandson, D’Arius Tucker her mother, Eloise Tucker; one brother, Samuel (Melinda) Tucker, Jr.; four sisters, Patricia Ann Ferguson, Katherine (Louie) Holloway, Dorothy Marie Lankford, and Tabitha Stevens; three uncles, Roy Tucker, William Sartor, and John Morgan Tucker; one aunt, Rebecca McConnell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Tucker, Sr. and her brother-in-law, Obadiah Stevens.
Shirley was a very loving, devoted, and compassionate caregiver. Her passion for cooking is how she spread her love to others. She fought a fierce fight with breast cancer. She continued to use her spiritual gift of caring for others while she continued to fight. Her strength was an inspiration to so many others. To her Golden Girls, Rebecca McConnell, Debra Walker, and Teresa Murphy you all were the epitome of what true friendship really is.
