Sheldon Phelps Obituary

Sheldon Bernard Phelps,63, of Moore, SC passed away Friday night, September 17, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Milledgeville, GA, he was the husband of Marlaina Amanda Grant Phelps and the son of Rufus Phelps, Jr. and the late Flossie Bell Harris Phelps. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ of New York, NY. He worked as a Security Guard and retired from Fordham-Tremont Community Mental Health Center, Bronx, NY.

He was predeceased by two grandsons, Shakir Jones and Kayden Phelps; two sisters, Ramona Phelps and Frenchie Phelps-Murden.

Left to cherish fond memories are his wife, of the home; six sons, Sheldon (Sharmaine) Jones, Donnell Jones, both of New York, NY, Manuel Poole, Numar Poole, both of Bronx, NY, Johnell Poole of Pleasantville, NJ, and Russell Poole of Germany; two daughters, Tiffany Phelps of New York, NY and Eileen Poole of Bronx, NY; one brother, Victor (Pamela) Phelps of Bronx, NY; two sisters, Victoria Phelps and Connie Phelps both of Bronx, NY; and a host of other loving relatives and friends who will sorely miss him.
