Sharon Denise Phoenix, 62, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center. A native of Harlem, New York, she was the daughter of Kay Francis Knott and the late John Phoenix.
Sharon was raised in the Bronx, New York, where she attended Walton High School. She was a former employee of Kalahari Resort in Pennsylvania. A devoted and loving mother, Sharon dedicated her life to her three daughters and her beloved grandson, who were the lights of her life. Known as the life of the party, she brought joy, laughter, and love wherever she went.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Nelson, and her lifelong companion, Thane Johnson.
She leaves to cherish precious and fond memories: her mother, Kay Francis Knott; three daughters, Jernee Johnson, Charmaine Johnson, and Michael-Michelle Phoenix; one grandson, Micah Sujilio; one brother, Eric Phoenix; two sisters, Angela Phoenix and Jameka Knott; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Sharon’s memory will live on through the love she shared, the joy she gave, and the light she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Celebration of life services to be held by the family in Bronx, NY.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
