The earthly life journey of Sally Hunter -Clark started in Tuskegee, Alabama in 1934 and she went to her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 27, 2020. Under the guidance of God, she had two wonderful parents, Willie Robert Hunter and Katie Bell-Hall Hunter.
She joined William Chapel Church at a young age where she was an usher, Sunday School Teacher and worked faithful with the children Ministry. When she graduated from Tuskegee Institute High School, she relocated to Queens, New York where she married and was a devoted mother to five children.
At the age of thirty, she went back to school and after receiving her degree, at the age of thirty-five she was employed as the Placement Supervisor for New York State where she retired after twenty years.
While in New York she joined the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Superintendent, she also was a member of the Hostess Club, Senior Missionary, Trustee Board, Scholarship Fund and also served as the Chairman for the Pastor’s legal matters, In 1999 Sally and her husband relocated to Spartanburg, South Carolina where she joined the Friendship Baptist Church and continued her Christian work as a Sunday School Teacher, a Missionary, a member of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry and helped to prepare Communion until her health problems.
She loved her family, her friends and had a passion for teaching God’s word. In addition to her love for God and her church she devoted a lot of time playing and challenging others in the word game of Scrabble and in her earlier years she was a bowler and did a lot of traveling competing in bowling tournaments.. She also started a bowling league at Friendship.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years; six brothers; six sisters; three sons; and three grandchildren.
She leaves precious memories to one son, Thomas Lorenzo Clark; one daughter, Patricia Jones; one step-daughter, Robyn Stalling Clark; nineteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Swanson; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends she cultivated over the years.
