Ruthie Lee (Gregory) Gault

Ruthie Lee Gregory Gault, 77, of 507 Lovers Lane Road, Union, S.C. was a devoted wife and loving mother to many. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday afternoon, September 2, 2020 after an extended period of declining health.  She was the wife of Reverend Wadell Gault, Jr. of the home and daughter of the late Ernest Gregory and Amanda Charlene Gregory Davis. 

She was a longtime, active member of Foster Chapel Baptist Church. She participated in numerous organizations.  She was a member of Sunday School Class #1, the Woman's Missionary Ministry, Pastor's Aide Club, the Sympathy Club, and the Senior Choir. She also organized the Cub Scouts and founded the Youth Choir of Foster Chapel Baptist Church.  She worked faithfully with the Mary B. Thomas Girls.  She was a member of the Ministers' Wives & Ministers' Widows, Inc.  She was a member of Lady Esther Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #353. She was a member of the Sims High School Class of 1961.  She was employed at Ace Sweater Co. and was a manager for the Pantry Stores.

In addition to her parents, two sons, Charles William “Chuckie” Gault, Sr., Wadell Gault, III, a granddaughter, Jasmine K. Pendergrass; two brothers, Russell Gregory, James Gregory; and one sister, Ernestine Davis all predeceased her in death.

Survivors in addition to her husband; includes two daughters, Yvette Gault (Derrick A.) Pendergrass of Fountain Inn, SC and Belinda (Carl) Harris of Jacksonville, NC; one son, Terence Gault of the home; one daughter-in-law, Ronnette Gault of Detroit, MI; six grandchildren, Charles William (Misti) Gault, Jr., Jarette Pendergrass, LaQuinta Sade' Johnson, Chavonne Gault, Shania Harris, Cameron Harris; five great-grandchildren, Jaylon Gault, Baileigh Johnson, M’Kailah Grant, Gabriel Gault, Jack Black; two sisters, Vivian Sims and Caroline Byrd both of Jonesville, SC; four brothers, Leroy Gregory of Jonesville, SC,  Jafus Gregory of FL, Matthew (Sandra) Gregory of Charlotte, NC, and Willie Gregory of Jonesville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends Friday, September 11, 2020 at the mortuary from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 3105 Jerusalem Road, Jonesville, SC  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
