Ruby Denise (Johnson) “Booboo” Gore

Ruby Denise Johnson Gore

     Ruby Denise Johnson “Booboo” Gore was born on April 20, 1963.  A native of Union, SC, she was the widow of Harry Lee Gore, Sr. (February 25, 2020) and the daughter of the late George Edward Johnson, Jr.  and Ruby Lee Williams Johnson.

      She was a 1982 graduate of Union High School.  She was a former employee of Standard Textiles. Ruby entered eternal rest on Friday afternoon, July 23, 2021, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

     In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Gory and Wanda Faye Johnson Young; her paternal grandparents, George and Irene Johnson; her maternal grandparents, David and Ruby Hall; her maternal great-grandmother, Essie Jeter; and two brothers-in-law, William Broadus, Jr. and Allen F. "Cornbread" Young.   

     She leaves to cherish loving memories, two sons, Antonio (Dana) Johnson and Harry Lee Gore, Jr. both of Union, SC; six grandchildren, Egypt Johnson, Kenya Johnson, Princess Johnson, Harry Lee Gore, III, Harmony Gore, and Jenarvrous Wicker; two brothers, Tony Johnson and Eric Johnson both of Union, SC; three sisters,  Tammy Johnson and Mona Smith both of Union, SC and Juanita Broadus of Lyman, SC; sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

     Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Mortuary Chapel.  The family will receive friends at 102 Columbus Street, Union, SC.  

     Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
