Roosevelt "Hook" Eison, Sr.

Roosevelt "Hook" Eison, Sr., 82, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at McCormick Post-Acute Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. A native of Union County, SC, he was the husband of Dorothy Mae Green Eison and the son of the late Spencer and Annie Lou Henderson Eison. He was educated in Union County public schools. At an early age, he joined Bethany AME Church where he served as a Trustee and attended faithfully throughout the years until his health declined. He was a member of the M. W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of South Carolina.

"Hook", as he was affectionately known, was preceded in death by one daughter, Nicole Cunningham, two sisters, Gussie Glenn and Mae Lois Hooker, three brothers, Gaines Eison, Marion Eison, and Garnett Eison.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, "Dolly" of 56 years of the home; three daughters, Sherry (James) Glenn, Tonya Graham, Ernestine (Jerome) Greene; two sons, Roosevelt Eison, Jr. and Douglas (Thelma) Mitchell; ten grandchildren, four of whom were reared in the home, Xrashun (Natalie) Eison, Jarvis Cunningham, Cendias Tucker and Sequoya Eison; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wendy (Phito) Domercant, Mary Eison (James) McKinney and Geanelle (Isaac) Reese; one brother, Roscoe (Dianne) Means; three sisters-in-law, Geraldine Eison, Everleen Eison and Minnie Lee Eison; and a host of nieces, nephews, other  loving relatives and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
