Roberta LaVette "Berta" Sims

Roberta LaVette “Berta” Sims of Spartanburg SC passed away Saturday night, November 5, 2022 in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of Annie Lee Peake Sims and the late Robert Sims. She was a member of Wyatt’s Chapel Baptist Church and graduated from Spartanburg High School.  She was an employee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Upstate. She is survived by her mother, Annie Brewton; two sons, Terrell Humphries and Tevin Humphries; stepson, Terrell Young; goddaughter, Dasia Garrett; five grandchildren, Jailah Humphries, Kenzell Humphries, Kentrell Humphries, Myla Humphries, and Amari Humphries; one brother, Robert “Tony” (Deneen) Sims; one sister, Melodie Booker; uncles, Calvin (Mary) Peake, William (Debra) Samuel, and James (Pamela) Samuel; aunts, Sarah V. Foster and Mamie (Calvin) Suber; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to include a best friend, Gale Garrett. The family will receive friends at 138 Halsey Avenue, Spartanburg SC. Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg SC is serving the family.
