Robert James Wilkins, Sr.

Robert James Wilkins, Sr., 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Kimball, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William "Willie" Wilkins, Sr. and sister Mattie (Leach) Wilkins. He was the widower of Bernice Harrell Wilkins. After graduating high school, he earned his living as a Coal Miner. 

Mr. Wilkins loved James Brown, the "Godfather of Soul", and listening to his music.

He was preceded in death by one son, Darryl Eugene Wilkins; two brothers, Donnell and Alphonso Wilkins; three sisters, Lula Wilkins Murrell, Dorothy Wilkins Stennis and Alice Wilkins Wynn.

He leaves precious memories to two sons, Robert James Wilkins, Jr., Ronnie (Karen) Wilkins; one daughter, Pearl B. (Daniel) Adams; four grandchildren, Leanne Wilkins, Ethan Wilkins, Acadia Adams, Shameica Adams; two brothers, Emmanuel (Michelle) Wilkins, Willie (Carolyne) Wilkins, Jr.; two sisters, Altia Wilkins, Hester Wilkins; one sister-in-law, Maxine Harrell Pack; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will sorely miss him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
