Robert Earl "Pennie" Thomas, Sr.

Robert Earl “Pennie” Thomas, Sr., 69, of Buffalo, SC, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at his residence. A son of Girlie Ruth Lott Thomas and the late Johnnie Thomas, he was born in Union County, SC on November 8, 1953. He was the widower of Shirley Smith “Fuzzy” Thomas.

Mr. Thomas attended the public schools of Union County and retired from the textile industry. He continued to work as a truck driver for Simmons Logging. He was a member of the SC Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his father.

Mr. Thomas leaves precious memories to his mother, Girlie Thomas; one son, Robert Thomas, Jr; one daughter, Clarissa Thomas; four grandchildren, Shiamya Thomas, Tykavion Harris, Robert Earl Thomas, III, and Kaden Sims; four brothers, Charles (Christine) Lott, Johnnie Thomas, Jr. (Lou Jean), Michael Thomas, and James Thomas; five sisters, Linda Thomas, Shirley Gregory, Joann Thomas, Helen (Dennis) Sanders, and Clara Moorman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Rd., Union, SC.
