Reverend Benjamin Mitchell Obituary

Reverend Benjamin Mitchell, 72, of Spartanburg, SC passed away January 22, 2022, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.  A native of Union County, SC, he was the husband of Judith Marie Fulbright Mitchell and the son of the late Jesse "Brown Bomber" Mitchell, Sr. and Mamie Vanderhost Mitchell. 

He was a member of Woodson Chapel Baptist Church and was a former employee of Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two grandchildren, Shavontee Glenn and Lacey Rashea Davis Kennedy; one brother, Jesse Mitchell, Jr.; and one sister, Minnie Mitchell-Bishop.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Mitchell of the home; one son, Anthony Mitchell of Spartanburg, SC; three daughters, Betty Ann Lott of Union, SC, Vanessa Glenn of Union, SC, and Felicia Mitchell of Spartanburg, SC; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Mitchell of Enoree, SC; three sisters, Mary Mitchell Gaston of Charlotte, NC, Martha Stewart of Charlotte, NC, and Romona "Cindy" Mitchell of Ellenwood, GA; and a host of other family members. 

Memorial services will be held 12 noon Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Woodson Chapel Baptist Church, 1447 Meansville Road, Union, SC. 

Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
