Reginald Lewis Smith, 60, of Union, SC, passed away on November 27, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center. He was the son of the late Joe Lewis Smith and Geneva Lott Smith.
Reginald also known as “Hen” graduated from Union High School. “Hen” had a love of baseball. He played in the Little League, The Dixie Majors, Pony League, Tri-County, American Legion, High School and college baseball at Gardner-Webb University. His friends gave him the nickname “Henry” which they shortened to “Hen” after the great American baseball player Henry Aaron. Then, later,
because his name was Reginald, his friends begin calling him Reggie after the baseball player Reggie Jackson. He was a former employee of Inman Mills in Enoree, SC. He served his country in the United States Army. He attended Bethesda Baptist Church in Santuc.
In addition to his parents, Reginald was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Lott.
Left to cherish his life are four brothers, Charles Lott, Jerry D. (Crystal) Smith, Marvin L. Smith, and Dexter W. Smith; three sisters, Joann (Ernest) Salter, Shirley S. (Derrick) Frazier, and Barbara A. (Bruce) Lewis; paternal uncle, Bennie Arthur Smith; paternal aunt, Sharon Smith Harris; and maternal aunts, Girlie Lott Thomas, Ruth Ann Lott-Gray, Gladys Lott, and Nancy Lott Cheatham; his special friend, Alice Suber; her children and grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
