Rachel Elizabeth Young

Rachel Elizabeth Young, 62, of Union, SC passed away on August 27, 2023 at her residence.  A native of Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Allen Young, Sr. and Dorothy Jean Rice Young. She was a member of Beatty’s Chapel AME Zion Church. She was a 1980 graduate of Union High School. She attended the SC Criminal Justice Academy and worked for the SC Department of Corrections. 

Rachel was predeceased by her parents, Allen and Dorothy Young; maternal grandparents, William and Elizabeth Booker; her paternal grandparents, Frank and Steady-Bell Young; two brothers, Allen F. Young and John C. Young; one sister, Shelia Young; and a great nephew, K’Haden Anderson.

She leaves behind four sisters, Floree Young, Annie Mae Young, Zelda Young-Bishop, and Tracey Suber; one brother James Young of Union SC; her nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 115 Bush Drive, Union, SC Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union,SC.
