Paul Franklin "PJ" Johnson

Paul Franklin "PJ" Johnson, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Spartanburg, SC, he was the husband of Camelia Wall Johnson and the son of the late Luke Dupree Johnson, Sr., and Leola Jackson-Johnson. He was educated in Bronx, New York Public Schools System. He was a dedicated employee of Hackensack Medical Center in New Jersey and retired after 38 years of service.

Mr. Johnson was raised in the Baptist faith and attended Mount Zion Baptist Church in Hackensack, New Jersey. After relocating to Spartanburg, SC, he joined Friendship Baptist Church of Spartanburg. He was a faithful member and sang on the Male Choir. He also served as a Trustee and active member of the Brotherhood Association.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Jackson; and two sisters, Clara Mae Jackson Wilkins, and Ophelia Cookie Johnson.

Paul leaves precious and fond memories to his loving wife, Camelia Johnson; sister, Harriet Elizabeth Allen; a special friend like a sister, Susie Jones; sisters-in-law; Cathy Dozier, Pamela (Vincent) Lee, Veronica Reyes, Robin Balogun, Rhonda Evans, all of NY, and Carrie Taylor and Beverly Harris, both of PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends all whom will miss him dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
