Nathaniel "Nate' Jeter Obituary

Nathaniel Jeter, affectionately known as "Nate" or “Nate Dogg” to his friends and family, entered eternal rest on November 19, 2020, at his home.  "Nate" was born on April 5, 1974, to Arthur Lee Jeter, Sr. and Shirley Lyles Jeter. He is the youngest son of three sons. "Nate" attended Union County Schools.  He is a member of the Union High School graduating class of 1993.  In his younger years, Nate attended Jeter Chapel AME Church.  "Nate" was a faithful and loyal employee of Webb Forging Company for twenty-seven years.  In his spare time, "Nate" loved spending time with his better half of thirty years, training and taking care of his dog “Debo”, restoring cars, shooting pool, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys no matter if they were winning or not.  "Nate" was a loving son. He took great care of his mother.  He was a loyal brother, always available if needed, and a proud uncle to his three nieces one nephew.  They were the children he never had.  "Nate" was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Lee Jeter, Sr., his maternal grandparents, Hardin Lyles, Sr. and Forestine Jeter Lyles, his paternal grandparents, Frank Jeter, Sr. and Rosa Lee Sims Jeter.  He leaves precious memories to his mother, Shirley Lyles Jeter; brothers, David Lyles and Arthur Lee Jeter, Jr.; his girlfriend, Tywila Gist of many years and her daughter, Cherika G. Graham, and granddaughter, Samia Graham; three nieces, Ashlee Jeter, Sharah, and Shyah Lyles; one nephew, Tre’ Ryan Jeter; one maternal aunt, Myra Lyles; one paternal uncle, James Jeter; and one maternal uncle, Hardin (Bobbie Jean) Lyles; one paternal aunt, Carolyn Henry Jeter; one maternal great-aunt, Ethel Mae Gaffney; one maternal great-uncle, Jimmy (Thelma) Jeter; and a host of cousins and friends.  Graveside services will be held 12 noon Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Jeter Chapel AME Church.  The family will receive friends at 175 Beasley Street, Carlisle, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
