Dr. Nathan Johnson, Jr was born December 8, 1940, in Harlem (Clewiston), Fl. He was the son of the late Nathan Johnson, Sr. and Callie Johnson.
He attended Harlem Academy in Clewiston, Florida, then enlisted into the US Army receiving training in the 514th Med company. He was honorably discharge in 1963 and received a Certification of Recognition for service in the Cold War.
In 1963 he married the late Shirley Ann Gallman Johnson, and lived in Detroit, Michigan for several years. Mr. Johnson relocated to Buffalo, SC where he worked as an engineer specializing in reliability and maintainability. He was a member of the American Society for Quality Control, Society of Reliability Engineering and Society of Logistics Engineer. He furthered his education by attending Wayne State University, Florida A&M, and also Florida State University.
He is survived by two sisters Corrie Johnson Clay, and Evelyn Johnson Jackson; also his children Elgie C. Johnson of Brooklyn NY, Darren D. Johnson (Teresa) of Buffalo, SC, and Heather M. Emerson (Ben) of Summerville, SC; one niece Vonda J. Gallman of Santuc, SC and six nephews Bryan and Eric Johnson, Chris and Mark Terry, Terrell Hardy, and Walter Lewis Johnson, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Jasmine C. Good, Kristen S. Good, Delia Emerson, Shakelia C. Lindsay, Charnelle M. Lindsay, Maurice T. Bonham, and Temaya A. Bonham; six great grandchildren, Anaya, Emery, Emeila, Zhauice, Noah, and Micheal.
He is preceded in death by a daughter Wendy Darlene Johnson, three brothers Elgie Johnson, Walter Lewis Johnson, and two sisters Mary Johnson Ferguson, and Florena Johnson Logan.
