Nancy Camp Carpenter, 93, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2022 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. A native of Baltimore, MD, she was the widow of Calvin Alexander Carpenter, Jr. and the daughter of the late Freeman and Peola Jolley Camp. She was a graduate of Granard High School, Gaffney, SC and a long time member of Majority Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC.
Ms. Carpenter was preceded in death by one son, Keith Smith; three brothers, Winfred Camp, Wendell Camp, and William Camp; and two sisters, Claudia Camp Veaze and Margaree Camp Hames.
Those left to cherish fond memories include three sons, Gerald (Valine) Smith, Freeman Smith, Reginald (Tameka) Carpenter; two daughters, Janis Smith and Terri Smith; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will sorely miss her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
