Minnie (Smith) Lipscombe

  Minnie Smith “Bean” Lipscombe, 75, of Jonesville, SC passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at her residence.  A native of Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John E. Smith and Nazaree Davis Smith.  She was a member of Foster Chapel Baptist Church of Jonesville where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent.  She was a 1965 graduate of Sims High School and attended Spartanburg Technical College.  She was a retired customer service manager from the Walmart Distribution Center. 

  She was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Annie Smith Hill and Velveree Smith “Punkin” Hughes. 

  She leaves precious memories to one son, Yastrzenski Lipscombe; one grandson, Devonta Goode, Sr.; five great-grandchildren, Devonta Goode, Jr., Kingston Goode, Kenji Goode, Arianna Welch, and Gianna Welch; one brother, Johnny (Penny) Smith; three god-sons, Chad Dawkins, O.J. Dawkins, and Tracy Bishop; two god-daughters, Monica Dawkins and Shamikia Hill; three god-granddaughters, Shatoria Brannon, Victoria Brannon, and Jamekia Thomas, reared in the home; one brother-in-law, Minister James Hill, Jr.; one aunt, Annie Rodgers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

  The family will receive friends at 136 Birch Street, Jonesville, SC.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Foster Chapel Baptist Church of Jonesville.  Interment will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery of Jonesville.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
