Minister Howard "Buddy" Brewton

Howard "Buddy" Brewton, 73, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Friday afternoon, February 24, 2023 in Spartanburg Medical Center. A native of Spartanburg County, he was the husband of Julia Mae Alverson Brewton and the son of the late Henry and Margaret McCoy Brewton. He attended Lincoln High School of Fairforest. He also attended Believers' Fellowship Assemblies of God. Mr. Brewton was a Supervisor for Dunn and Hill and retired after many years of dedicated service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roy McCoy and two sisters, Katie Sue Nelson and Elease Brewton.

He leaves fond and precious memories to his devoted wife, Julia Brewton; one son, Jermaine Gentry, four daughters, Roxanne Brewton, Lavenia Brewton (Robert) Miller, Sumeka Brewton, Nolita Davis; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Brewton, Terry Brewton, Jermaine Brewton; two sisters, Betty Penn, Dorothy (Kevin) Duncan; four brothers-in-law, Jerry Penn, Freddy Alverson, Jerry Alverson, Robert Alverson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends, all of whom will sorely miss him. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
