Obituary
Michael J. Pollard, 83, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House after a brief illness. Mr. Pollard was born November 6, 1939, in Concord, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Edgar and Hazel Pollard. In addition to working for Boeing and Draper, he owned a home-remodeling business. He was a member of United Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Mr. Pollard proudly served as Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps as an artillery weapons specialist after graduating from Fairforest High School. Mr. Pollard is survived by a sister, Barbara Thrasher; a niece, Diane Slaten; a nephew, Randy Pollard; and by numerous great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Pollard. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at United Baptist Church, 7319 Valley Falls Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303 conducted by the Rev. Robert Emory. Interment will be at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice House or the Wounded Warrior Project
