Melvin Henry Hardy

Melvin Henry Hardy, 60, of Union, SC passed away Sunday morning, November 6, 2022, in Union Medical Center. A native of Union County, SC, he was the widower of Catherine Denise Harris Hardy and the son of James Hardy and Lillie V. Glenn Hardy. Melvin was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and attended McBeth Baptist Church. He was 1980 graduate of Union High School and was a commercial truck driver by trade. He was US Army veteran having enlisted on July 23, 1980, at Fort Jackson, SC and was honorably discharged on July 20, 1983, at Fort Dix, NJ. He received the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon.  He was a M-16 Rifle Sharpshooter. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Melvin leaves precious memories to his two daughters, Yaika Jeter and Khadora Hardy; three grandchildren;  five brothers, Charles Hardy, James (Sherry) Glenn, Joe  (Donna) Hardy, Stanley (Cynthia) Hardy, and Lincoln (Marilyn) Hardy; two sisters, Merrill Glenn and Sonja (Bradley) Hardy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC is serving the family.
