Matthew Booker, Jr.

Matthew Booker, Jr., 56, of Spartanburg, SC passed July 5, 2021.  A native of Duncan, SC, he was the husband of Melodie Sims Booker and son of the late Matthew Booker, Sr. and Genell Reid Booker. He was a 1982 graduate of Byrnes High School and was a truck driver. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Sydney Booker (Shonice), Kendrick Lynch, Kedric Sims, and Jonathan Ruth; two daughters, Tysheanna Booker and Shaunna Sims; eleven grandchildren; a special adopted son, Jemond Hawes; one sister, Elaine (Richard) Dillard; nephew, Marcus Dillard; and a host uncles, aunts, and cousins. The family will receive friends at the home.  Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC is in charge of arrangements.
