Mary (Mitchell) Gaston

Mary Mitchell Gaston, 77, of Charlotte, NC passed away on May 19, 2023 in Carolinas Medical Center Main. A native of Union, SC, she was the widow of Jimmy Gaston and the daughter of the late Jesse Mitchell, Sr. and Mamie Vanderhost Mitchell.  She was a member of Woodson Chapel Baptist Church, Union, SC. Ms. Gaston was a 1965 graduate of Sims High School. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and eventually retired after many years of dedicated service.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Mitchell, Jr. and Benjamin Mitchell; one sister, Minnie Mitchell-Bishop.

She leaves fond memories to her daughter, Romona "Cindy" Mitchell of Ellenwood, GA; one brother,  Ernest Mitchell of Enoree, SC; one sister, Martha Stewart of Charlotte, NC; her beloved grandpup, Penny; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
