Martin Monroy Valladares

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Martin Monroy, a devoted father, brother, and friend to soooo many. He left this world on October 22, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. 

Born on November 11, 1955 in Veracruz Mexico, Martin grew up with a passion for soccer. He proudly worked as a warehouse specialist and warehouse laborer for over 50 plus years. His accomplishments included playing on a soccer team, coaching many soccer teams, moving to the US for work and then starting a family. 

He is survived by his seven loving children; Felix Raul Monroy, Joshua Saldaña, Idania Monroy, Irma Monroy, Cristina Monroy, Silvia Monroy, Diana Monroy and five siblings; Angel Monroy, Epifanio Monroy, Alicia Monroy, Yolanda Monroy, Candelaria Monroy; and his nine grandchildren; as well as extended family. His legacy of love, ALWAYS giving to others around him, sharing wisdom, and extending his kindness will forever inspire his family and friends.

Martin Monroy was known for his hopeful spirit, infectious laughter, generosity and strong will and determination to take on anything.

Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 205 Sams Street, Gaffney, SC 29340, on October 26, 2024 at time 10:00 AM. Burial services will follow at Rosemont Cemetery, 123 Sardis Road, Union, SC 29379, at 1:00 PM.
