In Loving Memory of Marquise Asanté Browning

Marquise Asanté Browning of Spartanburg, SC, entered eternal rest on April 25, 2026, at the age of 28. Though his time on earth was brief, Marquise leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to others, the kindness he extended so freely, and the lasting impact he made on everyone whose life he touched.

Marquise was a proud graduate of Union High School, Class of 2017, where he formed lifelong friendships and began building the foundation for the man he would become. He was a devoted member of Church of Christ at Lakeside, where his faith helped guide his life and values. Professionally, Marquise was a dedicated professional at Gestamp, known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vivian and Robert Lee Smith, and his great-grandparents, Willie Harold Browning, Emma Hopkins, and Arthur Jeter.

Marquise leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Ashley (Cedric) Brown; his father, Jabbar Smith; his grandmother, Mary E. Hopkins Browning; his great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Browning; his aunts, Shaunté Latrice Browning and Deshawn Browning; his uncles, Tony (Tonya) Smith and Eric Smith; and his beloved siblings, Terrian “MJ” Lawson, Princess Brown, and Ce’Niya Brown.

He shared a special bond with his cousins, Amya and Deontae Beacham, and with Terry Lawson, who held a meaningful and cherished place in his life. He also leaves behind a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will deeply miss his presence and forever cherish the memories they shared.

Though Marquise’s life was brief, his impact was profound. His spirit, his smile, and the love he gave so generously will remain a lasting light in the hearts of those who loved him. His memory will be treasured always, his legacy honored forever, and his life celebrated with deep love and gratitude.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed.
