Magdalene Jackson Jefferies, 90, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Wednesday morning December 16, 2020 at her residence. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the widow of Jerry Lee Jefferies, Sr. and the daughter of the late Samuel Jackson, Sr. and Lucy Lee Hines Jackson. She was educated in the public schools of Spartanburg County and retired from Butte Knitting Mill after many years of service. Mrs. Jefferies was a member of Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church where she was the Mother of the Church and served on the Usher Board as well as the Gospel Choir. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lee Jefferies, Jr.; one daughter, Lou Jean Jefferies Bullock; four brothers, Artis Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Jr., John Clarence Jackson, and Charles Edward Jackson; and one grandson, Theo John English, Jr. Those left to cherish fond and loving memories are her daughter, Priscilla English; five grandchildren, Michael English, Jerome (Robin) Bullock, Michelle (John)Swindler, Felecia (Thomas) Collins, Donna (Willie) Ferguson; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
