Mae Salter Obituary

Mae Frances Thompson Salter, 74, of Union, SC, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at her residence. A native of Union County, she was the widow of William “Big Daddy” Salter, and the daughter of the late Wilbur Thompson, Sr., and Rosa Pendergraph Thompson.

Mae was educated in Union County Public Schools. She worked for Milliken -Monarch Plant. She joined Maple Ridge Baptist Church at an early age.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jerry Jermine Thompson, Jr.; granddaughter, Angela Nicole Thompson; brothers Ralph Thompson, Wilbur Thompson, Jr., Neville Thompson; sister Debra (Chris) Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Ola Salter; brothers-in-law, Willie Salter and Wallace Salter; and sister-in-law, Dora Salter.

Leaving to cherish precious memories are her sons, Jerry Thompson, Larry Thompson, William Leon Salter, and stepsons, William Earl (Angela) Salter and Eric Salter; daughters, Rose Marie Thompson and Sabrina Thompson (Robert) Fuller; the most precious gifts, her grandchildren, Katrina Wicks, Ashley Fuller, Keshia Coad, Shericka Fuller, Veronica Fuller, Lisa Thompson, Kenterrius Thompson, Michael Jeter, Falisha Jeter, Jarvis Andrew Jeter, Quenterous Jeter, Zyquis Thompson, Princess Thompson, Tyatryeon Thompson, Marqavious Salter, Zy’rion Salter, and Iryana Salter; great-grandchildren, D’Jayshia Geter, Kymani Nash, Zymiracle Jeter, Jadorian Chamberlain, Ja’myion Chamberlain, Ka’miya Fuller, Javarious Wicks, Rasheed Wicks, Kristina Wicks-Neal, Kianna Petty, Kayden Wicks-Neal, Kyrie Coad, Fiesta Dodson, Maurice Fuller-Neal, Harmonee Dixon, Tyler Fuller, Skylar Fuller, Khalia Dixon, Keyland Fuller, Kailey Fuller-Neal, Kalami Thompson, Kaien Thompson, A’Nireiah Jones, Kii’Mora Jones and Jayceon Means; brothers James Thompson, Leroy (Geraldine) Thompson, and Odell Thompson; sisters, Virginia Rice, Deloris (Lawerance) Booker, and Dorothy Wallace; brothers -in -law, Ernest (Joann) Salter, Eddie (Doreatha) Salter, and Chubby Salter; sisters- in- law, Betty Woods, Tammy (Algreco) Woods, Marie (Tyrone) Gladney; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends all whom will miss her dearly.
