Lonnell Ellis

Lonnell Ellis, 56, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Friday afternoon, December 4, 2020 in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Spartanburg, SC, he was the husband of Yvonne Kearns Ellis and the son of the late Harold Odell Ellis and Joanne Posey Rogers (LC Rogers). He was a former employee of W. N. Kirkland, Inc. Mr. Ellis was a 1983 graduate of Spartanburg High School and gladly served many area churches in any capacity in which he was needed.  In addition to his father, he was predeceased by one brother, Ronald Odell Ellis. Survivors, in addition to his wife, are: three sons, Travis Ellis and Terres Ellis of Spartanburg, SC, and Courtney Gooden of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Brittany Wilson of Spartanburg, SC and Keyoshia Ellis of Chicago, IL; a stepson, Jamund Kearns; a stepdaughter, Genesis Kearns of Spartanburg, SC; his mother and stepfather, Joann Posey Rogers and LC Rogers of Spartanburg, SC; four brothers, Tommy Ellis, his twin, Donnell Ellis and his wife, Mitzie, Tyrone Ellis, and Harold Means, all of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Monica Hunter of Spartanburg, SC; thirteen grandchildren; a special friend, Charlotte Shippy; and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins, all of whom will sorely miss him. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
