Lisha Runese Tate, affectionately known as “Rue-Rue”, was born on April 1, 1961 to the late Charlie and Daisy Tate of Pacolet, SC. She was a proud graduate of Broome High School, class of ’79.
Rue was known for her very fun and crazy sense of humor. Her passion was cooking meals for her family. She was loved by many and she returned the same to everyone who knew her. She will truly be missed not only by the family but the many friends she met throughout her lifetime especially her social media family.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Irene “Tot” Goode; paternal grandparents, Mose and Maggelene Tate; grandson, J’Tron Shippy; aunts, Dorothy Mae Porter, and Geraldine Foster; and uncle, Robert Lee Goode.
She leaves behind a daughter, Jonique (Darren) Wannamaker; a son, Jakeem (Ebony) Shippy; five grandsons, Jarius, Samari, Zayden, Ja’Kobe, and Julian; two grand-daughters, Trinity, and Rylee; one sister, Kimberly Tate; five brothers, Barry Jones, Dwayne Tate, Charles Tate, Reggie Tate, and James (LaTonya) Jones; two Godchildren, Shadai Mitchell, and Darius Hemphill; aunts, Freddi Davis of Gaffney, Mattie Louise Massey of Taylors, SC; and uncle Stonewall Foster of Pacolet, SC. three special cousins like sisters, Fredia Black, Deneen Hemphill, and Valrey Porter; special friends like sisters, Saundra Brewton, Charlotte Goforth, Terrial Walton, Vera-Elaine Ware, and Linda Shippy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc. 102 Marion Avenue Spartanburg, SC.
