Lewis Rice

Lewis Earl Rice was born in Union, SC on December 25. 1955 to the late Robert Rice and Lillie Ruth He was a former employee of Cannon Roofing.  He was well known in the community and liked by many.  He was a loyal New York Giants fan.  Whenever you saw him, he was wearing read and blue.  He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Connie Eison; brothers, Reverend Daniel Wesley and Willie James  Rice; sisters, Linda Jean Ferguson, Brenda Jean Smith, Lizzie Ruth Hines; and brother-in-law, Raymond Hines. He leaves to cherish fond memories to three daughters, Vanessa (Keshaun) Porter, Shondonnya (Datron) Cohen, and Cyterria Eison; six sons, Dejuan Rice, Lamonte (Marsha) Cheek, Cedrick Green, Darris Rice, Demond Green, Jimmie Green; two sisters, Mamie (Johnny) Harris and Sarah Williams; two brothers, Robert (Modestine) Rice and Dennis (Darlene) Rice; two aunts, Patricia and Nathalee Moorman; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Rickey Ferguson and Erick Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins,  Lewis passed away January 29, 2021 in Spartanburg Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in the Chapel of Community Mortuary.  The family will receive friends at the home.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
