Leroy Walker, Sr.

     Leroy Walker, Sr., 83, of Union, SC died on Sunday afternoon in Union Medical Center.  A native of Union County, SC, he was the husband of Minister Marie P. Bayne Walker and the son of the late Horace Whitmire and Kathleen Walker Sanders.   

     Deacon Walker was a graduate of Sims High School and was retired as an auto mechanic with Ferguson Chevrolet.  He was a member and Deacon Board Chairman of Thompson Chapel Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Leroy Walker, Jr.; and one sister, Shirley Jean Coleman. 

          Deacon Walker is survived by his wife; one son, Michael (Tina) Walker; one daughter, Lakeisha Walker; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family. 

     Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Thompson Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. 

     The family will receive friends at the home.
