Leroy Land

Leroy "Tom" Land, 89, of 518 Hart Street, Union, SC died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.  A native of Santuc, SC, he was the husband of Rebecca Simpson Land and the son of the late Wade Land and Bervenia Haile.  He was a retiree of the SCDOT and was a former postal worker.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He was also a US Army veteran.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Leroy Land, Jr. and James Wallace Land; one daughter, Ella Sue Land Taylor; one grandson, Derrick Land; two brothers, Walter Robinson and Willie Robinson; and one sister, Betty Weeks.  He leaves to mourn his wife of sixty five years, Rebecca Simpson Land; four daughters, Mary Lee (Jackie) Land Gist and Rebecca Louise Land Clarke both of Union, SC, Jacqueline Land-Strahan of San Antonio, TX and Shelia Land of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren, Quintrena (Elijah) Land Wilson, Ruikeia Land, Keyla (Chan) Land Smith, Michael Land, La'Marcus Land, J'Anthone Strahan, Shareika Land. James Jeter and Cedrick Land; twelve great-grandchildren; two aunts, Annie Pearl Farr and Ethel Mae Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  The family will receive friends at the home.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Community Mortuary Chapel.  Interment will be at Rosemont Cemetery .  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
