L. T. “Shorty” Peake, Jr., 82, of Spartanburg, SC passed Monday evening, October 3, 2022, in Spartanburg, Regional Hospice Home.
A native of Union County, SC, he was the son of the late L. T. Peake, Sr. and Pearline Miller Peake.
He attended the public schools of Union County and served in the U S Army from 1963 -1965 and received the Good Conduct Medal. He was retired from Tindall Corporation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Terrence Antwan Moorman; six brothers, Robert Peake, Leroy Peake, Reverend J. Lewis Peake, James Eddie "Bo-Dilly" Peake, Perletha “Brother” Peake and Claude McBeth; and two sisters, Thelma Smith and Ruthel Smith.
He survived by one son, Tremayne D. Peake; one daughter, Cheryl Jackson (Carl); nine grandchildren; four sisters, Cansadie Johnson, Velma (Michael) Session, Jeanette Mullins, and Juliet (Charles) Moss; sister-in-law, Minnie Peake; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends at 356 Amherst Drive, Spartanburg, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
