John Morgan Tucker, Sr. Obituary

CARLISLE, SC—John Morgan Tucker, Sr. widower of Rose Odessa Johnson Tucker and son of the late Rice Tucker and the late Clara Bell Jeter Tucker, was born in Union, SC on February 25, 1938.

He departed this earthly life on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Spartanburg Medical Center. He attended the public schools of Union County and retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing Plant. He was a longtime associate of the former Whitney Funeral Home.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Marcia Tucker: two brothers, David Tucker and Samuel "Sam" Tucker, Sr.; and one sister, Myra Gist.

  He leaves to mourn his passing three sons, John (Edith) Tucker, Jr., Ricky (Linda) Tucker, and Albert (Harriet) Tucker; two daughters, Patty (Tyrone) Dunn and Tressia Tucker, one grandson reared in the home. Terrence Tucker; thirteen additional grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy (Jeanette) Tucker; one sister, Rebecca T. McConnell; three sisters-in-law. Elouise Tucker, Loretta Sims, and Mary Tucker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at 109 Tucker Lane, Carlisle. SC, Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road is serving the family.
