In His infinite wisdom God, our Heavenly Father who do with all things well called Ms. Joe and Tolliver home on a beautiful sunny afternoon of September 25, 2022.
Joe Ann Tolliver was born on July 21, 1941, a precious gift from God to the late Mark Martin and Rosetta Martin in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Joe Ann confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church instilled by her mother, Rosetta Martin. She attended Carver High School where she graduated.
Joanne moved from the South to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1972. A country lady with great mannerisms, always presenting herself with great etiquette and respect. She became a member of Golden Leaf Baptist Church of Cincinnati, Ohio where she served on the Usher Board. She worked really hard for over 20 years for her family and retired from the city of Hamilton County Job and Family Services.
Joe Ann built a magnificent life for her and her children, Johnny, Jr., Anita, Pamela, and Leona whom she loved dearly. She loved church and traveling with her family. Every summer she would travel back to the South, maintaining her roots that she entrenched with her family. Joe Ann loved to help the youth, so she gave her time back to the community to help them. She was a member of the Elks Lodge; Fraternal Organization and a professional clothing shopper. If you were ill, she would come lay eyes on you because she would help any of her family members. Joanne was a devoted and loving great-grandma, grandma, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be missed
Joe Ann will go on to heaven to join her deceased siblings, Ruby Martin, Mark Martin, Jr., John Martin, and Joe Martin whom she loved dearly.
Joe Ann Toliver leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Johnny Toliver, Jr.; three daughters, Anita Ivery, Pamela Tolliver, and Leona Tolliver; five grandchildren, Brad Williams, Anisha Tayvon, Darrien, and Lauren Tolliver; eight great-grandchildren, Trio, Myana, Truth, Taylor, Dyana, Tayvon, Jr., Iyana, and Brad, Jr.; one brother, Deacon Nathaniel Martin; one nephew, Douglas Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
