JoAnn (Dawkins) McClurkin

JoAnn Dawkins McClurkin, 68, of 211 Cambridge Drive, Union, SC passed away on December 30, 2020 in Spartanburg Medical Center-Mary Black Campus.  A native of Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Jeter, Jr. and Christine Lula Dawkins.  She was a member Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Union County DSN Board.  She was graduate of Sims High School and Spartanburg Technical College.  She was preceded in death by her father and her mother; two grandchildren, Ja'Derrick Fincher and Ja'Liyah Kendara "Le Le" Fincher;  four brothers, Frank Dawkins, Wallace Dawkins, Julius Dawkins, and David Dawkins; one sister, Julia Jones; and her companion, John Hunter.  She is survived by two sons, Starks Fincher, Jr. and Derrick Fincher; two daughters, Kimberly Fincher and Monica Fincher; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers, James (Dorothy) Jeter, Henry (Betty) Jeter, and Louis )Cathy) Dawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the home.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
