Jimmie “Shoe Shop” Land, Jr., 69, of 114 Brookside Drive, Union, SC passed away Friday morning, December 11, 2020 in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Union County, SC, he was the son of the late Jimmie Land, Sr. and Helen Hampton Land. He was a member of McBeth Baptist Church, a 1972 graduate of Union High School, and was retired from the Torrington Company Tyger River plant after thirty-five years. He was a fan of the Washington Redskins and the Clemson Tigers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Trunise "Cutie" Jeter; brothers, Robert Hampton, Sylvester Hampton, Larry Land, and James Land; and one sister, Betty Land. He is survived by three daughters, Mary Gage (John) Robinson of Wellford, SC, Dr. Natashia Jeter of Union, SC, and Lakeesha Jeter of Rock Hill, SC; a niece who was like a daughter, Tawanda Rice of Union, SC; five grandchildren, Darrion Scott, Brandon Robinson, Karrah Rice, Trinity Rice, and Kendrick Jeter; one great grandson, Aaron Scott; three sisters, Minnie Kershaw, Drucilla Glenn, and Beatrice Bates all of Union, SC; and host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the home. Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, December 17, 2020 McBeth Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
