Jimmie Lee "Duke" Woods

Jimmie Lee "Duke" Woods, 74, of 1817 Jonesville Highway, Union, SC and formerly of 305 Columbus Street, Union, SC passed away on Wednesday afternoon, December 2, 2020 in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.  A native of Union County, SC, he was the husband of Betty Salters Woods and son of the late John D. Byrd and Lillie Mae Lyles Woods. He was a graduate of Sims High School. He was a former employee of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home and was self-employed as a painter.  He served his country in the United States Marine Corp.  He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, James Albert Woods; Javan Spears; and his sisters, Minister Linda Ray Faye "Tiny" Rogers, Peggy Jean Woods and Jackie Woods.  In addition to his wife, Betty Salters Woods, he is survived by three sons, John Sanders of Atlanta, GA and Demond Green and Jimmie Green both of Union, SC; one daughter, Vanessa Green Porter; one brother, Calvin Woods of Union, SC; two sisters, Ohio Jeter, and Judith Ann Mitchell both of Union, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Graveside services will be held 12 noon on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Corinth Society Cemetery.
