Mr. Jeffery Leroy “Pezo” Hughes, Sr. peacefully departed this life at his residence in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 17, 2021. Mr. Hughes, also affectionally known as Jeffro, was born on April 23, 1951 to the late Mr. Bennie James and Fannie Mae Hughes of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
After graduating from Lincoln High School in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Jeffro enlisted in the United States Navy where he received an Honorable Discharge. He was most proud of the dry cleaners, Dun Rite, he started with his late wife Mae Frances Hughes.
Jeffro leaves to cherish fond memories his wife Johna Davis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one son, Mr. Jeffery L. Hughes, four sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Pearson, Mrs. Connie (Guy) Tanner, Mrs. Almonia (Marshall) Franks, and Mrs. Karen (Fred) Sullivan; two brothers, Mr. Terry (Peggy) Hughes and Mr. Pinky (Mary) Hughes; one grandson, Tyquan Smith, and one great-grandson, Ja’Quez Smith, all of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Jeffro also leaves to cherish his memory four bonus children he loved as his own, Alice Mainer, Timothy Berry, Jermaine Berry, and Zakea Brooks and their 12 children .
Later in his life, Jeffro embraced his extended family Monroe Jackson (deceased), John Jackson (deceased), Robert Jackson, David Jackson, Doris Davis, Dianne Jackson, Theresa Jackson, Annie Wells, and James Jackson.
He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins
Jeffro was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Alvin Jefferies and Mr. James Hughes and his grandson, Mr. Adrian Clark.
