Janie Carolyn (Jones) “Cat” Richardson

Janie Carolyn Jones “Cat” Richardson, 70, passed away on Monday afternoon, January 16, 2023, in Spartanburg Medical Center. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Brownlee and Minnie Love Jones Hines. She was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School. She was a member of New Testament Christian Church. Ms. Richardson retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after over twenty years of dedicated service.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Hasker Brownlee, Edward Brownlee, Jerry Brownlee, Jerry Brownlee, and Thomas Brownlee.

She leaves fond and precious memories to two daughters, LaVerne Richardson, Marquita Richardson; one brother, Clint (Janie) Jones; four grandchildren Jossalyn (Darryl) Wilson, Brandon Richardson, Rashad Richardson, Marquis (Jada) Richardson; three great-grandchildren, Luke Wilson, Micah Banks Wilson, Hannah Wilson; and a host of cousins, relatives, neighbors and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Ave. Spartanburg, SC.
