Janice Coker, 58, of Inman SC, transitioned Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, at her residence. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mamie Lee Coker.
Janice was a woman with a pure heart who found joy in helping others and being of service whenever she could. She loved to talk and connect with people, and her smile had a way of lighting up any room she entered.
She found happiness in creative expression, especially painting colorful pictures and working in puzzle books. These simple joys reflected her vibrant personality and her love for life’s quiet, meaningful moments.
Janice took great pride in her independence and cherished being able to do things for herself. Running track in the Special Olympics brought her immense joy and a sense of accomplishment. Her work in the restaurant industry gave her pride and purpose, allowing her to contribute and connect with others. She had a gift for bringing comfort and joy to those around her.
One of her proudest achievements was earning her academic achievement certificate from the University of South Carolina Upstate, a milestone that brought her great happiness and reflected her determination and spirit.
Janice will be remembered for her loving heart, her bright smile, and the joy she brought into the lives of others. She leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by all who knew and loved her.
Janice was preceded in death by one brother, Willie Earl Coker one sister, Mattie Elizabeth Coker; a nephew, Rufus Coker; and a niece, Latasha Chanel Coker.
She is survived by two brothers, Robert E. Coker, and Francis Coker; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends whom will miss her kindness, warmth, and genuine spirit.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
