James Western Evans, 50, of Spartanburg, SC, entered eternal rest on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House. A native of Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Louis Gaston and Carrie Mae Williams Rice. He was a member of The United House of Prayer.
Throughout his life he earned his living as a cook, known for his special touch in preparing meals that were pleasing to the palate and always appreciated by those who enjoyed them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clay Gaston.
He leaves precious memories to one adoring son, Jaquavis Coleman; two brothers, Ahmad Lockett and Tyrone Gaston, both of Spartanburg, SC; three sisters, Shemeka (Ambrose) Collins, Octavia Collins, and Tina Lockett, all of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
