James Thomas Peake, Sr. was born in Union County, SC, on Tuesday, September 10, 1940. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of Mary Helen Gallman Peake and son of the late Eddie Peake and Leola Jeter Peake.
James was a graduate of Sims High School, class of 1959. He retired from Torrington Plant in Union, SC, after many years of service.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by six brothers; Euguene Peake, Eddie Peake, Jr., Louis “L.D.” Peake, Sr., Abraham Peake, George E. Peake, and Roscoe Peake, Sr.; two sisters, Magaree Young, and Delores Emerson; and one brother- in-law, Frank Henderson.
He leaves precious and fond memories with his wife, Mary Peake; sons, James Thomas Peake, Jr., and Terrence Peake; two sisters, Helen (Howard) Carter, and Ruby Peake Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and neighbors, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
