James Lee Thompson

James Lee Thompson, 64, of Whitmire, SC, in Newberry County, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at his residence. A native of Whitmire, SC, he was the husband of Vanessa Jean Clark Thompson and son of the late Leardice Eison, Sr., and Lucy Hancock Thompson.

James was affectionately known as “Jimmy/Graham” was a graduate of Whitmire High School, class of 1978. He earned a living in manufacturing. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Union.

James was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Syndey Ariel Knuckles; three brothers, Lee Skinner, John D. Eison, and Bradley Eison; niece, Princess A. Furgess; and nephew, Albert Furgess.

Left to cherish precious and fond memories are his wife of fourteen years, Vanessa Jean Clark Thompson; four sons, Lloyd Clark, Lee Sentielle’ Clark, James Lee Thompson, Jr., and Christopher Gist; two daughters, Amanda Jean Clark, and Kelsi Thompson; grandchildren, Alysha, Kayden, Jeremiah, Braylen, Riley, Jordyn, Gavyn, Marleigh, Bryceson, Hayleigh, Christopher, Ryan, Ashlyn, James III, Tristyn, and Corey.  four brothers; Larkin Lee (Courtney) Thompson, Leardice (Ida Mae) Eison, Jr., Jerome (Kimberly) Eison, and Bobby Eison; four sisters, Alice (Bennie) Gilliam, Sandra Worthy, Arlene (Brad) Dawkins, and Elizabeth (James) Thomas; and host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends all of whom will sorely miss him.
