James Christopher "Hakeem" Sims

James Christopher "Hakeem" Sims, 59, of 219 General Lee Drive,Union SC passed away Monday,April 20,2020 at his residence.  A native of Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of Sallie Mae Sims Jeter of the home and the late Johnny Sims, Sr.  He attended the public schools of Union County and worked as a caterer.  Survivors in addition to his mother include one son, Patrick McDowell of Spartanburg, SC; four daughters, Linda Ezell of Greer, SC, Tiffany McCree of Spartanburg, SC, Tina McDowell of Spartanburg, SC, and Crystal McDowell of Greenville, SC; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Johnny Sims, Jr. of Greenville, SC; five sisters,  Linda Dianne Sims of Spartanburg, SC, Gloria Sims of Spartanburg, SC, Mary Jeter of Union, SC, Maria Jones of Spartanburg, SC, and Sheena Jeter of Union, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
