James Edward "Tank" Dial, 68, of Enoree, SC passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at his residence. He was born to the late Geneva Evans and Otis Dial, in Cold Point, SC, on June 29, 1955, and raised by his late grandmother Maggie Williams.
Tank was a former employee of the Riverdale Plant. He joined the Macedonia Christian United Church where he served on the Deacon Board, Trustee Board, and sung on the choir. Tank was a mentor to many in the Cross Keys Community.
He transitioned to rest on November 18, 2023, at his home.
He leaves fond and precious memories to his loving wife, Janie Mae Dial; his three children; Tracy Norman of Union, SC, Donovan (Anita) Norman of Tampa, FL, and Tashure Dial of the home; his seven grandchildren, Dea’Yaveon Booker of Union, Sa’Miyah Booker of Union, SC, Ja’leeah Grant and Skylar Grant of the home, Otis Starks, Christian Starks, and Olivia Norman of Tampa, FL; one great grandson, Jayden Stokes of Union, SC; five sisters, Melrose (James) Brown of Baltimore, MD, Wynetta (Frankie) Jones, Carol (Johnnie) Grant, Cynthia (Kenneth) Grant, all of Gray Court, SC and Osie (George) Thompson of GA; five brothers, Delmar (Brenda) Dial of Barnwell, SC, Willie George (Betty) Dial of Laurens, SC, Billy Evans of Rock Hill, SC, Donald (Loretta) Dial of TX, Michael (April) Dial of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters-in-love, Janice Dawkins, and Delois Kelly; one brother-in-love, Rick (Diane) Norman; his partners in crime, Rick Norman, Alex Browning, Ridge Dobbins, and John Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friend at the home. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
